On Frymðe

stars on me
down shine the bright
how darken night

close is morn
warm azure touch

yet drip down sky
sad drops and gray
all they say measure tears

sweetly this
dawn pure greets kiss

happy sung
sounds now the song
thy star night fallen
                    risen is.

  1. This poem is included in “Five Poems” for Kindle (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004QTOOBC). I am trying to get Amazon to change the price to “free,” but right now it’s still listed at $0.99.

If you don’t have a Kindle device, there are free Kindle readers for PC, Mac, and most mobile phones.

  2. Yes, it is true: I am posting really old stuff that I dug out from writing workshops of yesteryear just so I can stall and not do any real writing work tonight.

  3. Jack Schouten! Creative writing classes, driving a VW, and looking at buying a 300-CD carousel. Those were the days …

Oh, and nice poem. Liked it even though I had to look up “Frymðe” and learn something new and interesting.
